Yoga Arts Creation Camp (2020 edition)
Online/In Person Hybrid
Limited to 8 students per week!
An inspiring week of Yoga, Music, Meditation, and Art! Students will learn the basics of yoga through songs and stories. The easy pose sequences stretch and strengthen their bodies, while songs and meditations illuminate their inner peace and creative energy! Move, sing, and play!
Prior to the camp week: An art box will be prepared and given to each student with materials for all of our projects for the week! (Either parents will pick this up from the studio or Kimberly will drop it off at your home!)
Let’s meet each day on the Lexington Green for 1 hour of Yoga and Music! We will set up our mats in a large socially distant circle. Parents must stay in the area and will be contacted if their child has any personal needs (i.e. using the bathroom). We will do an energizing yet relaxing yoga practice, play mindfulness games, and sing chants and meditative songs!
2:30-2:45pm Outdoor optional snack time! Bring a healthy snack to eat while still staying socially distant.
At home: Kimberly will create pre-recorded video tutorials on how to do each art project. Each afternoon, after getting home from yoga, students can open their art box and watch the video for that day! (Monday-Thursday)
Friday Performance: Each Yoga Arts Creation Camp session ends with a short performance by students showcasing what we learned and created together. (Performing is always optional). This year’s performances are TBD within these two options. Option 1: We will do a short performance outside for parents at 2:35pm on Friday, and then have the option of staying for snack. Option 2: We will put together videos as the week goes on of our songs and yoga flows, and watch it together over zoom on Friday afternoon.
If it Rains: If our yoga class on the green is rained out, we will meet at 1:30-2:30pm for a zoom live yoga class.
$200 per week
Below is a look at what Yoga Arts Creation Camp usually looks like!
The ultimate summer experience for children is here! Yoga Arts Creation Camp embodies creativity, self expression, and fun! Children will have a blast learning the basics of yoga, meditation and mindfulness wrapped into songs, stories, and games. We will explore self love, connecting to others, and the magic of the Earth as we sing, dance, and create art projects together!
The magic of Yoga Arts Creation Camp is in the collaborations that happen all week long! Some songs and yoga flows are taught, and some we create together as a group! Every Friday we put on a performance for parents showcasing what we learned and created during the week. Students are welcome to contribute to the performance in any way they are comfortable with. If your little yogi doesn't like the spotlight, performing is optional! Art projects and performances will be different every week, so feel free to sign up for just one session, or join us for them all!
